EDMONTON – Making a combined 51 saves over two games worth of work, Daigle led the Griffins to 4-0 and 5-0 wins over the Briercrest College Clippers over the weekend.
As a result, he eclipsed his own MacEwan record for the longest regular season shutout streak in program history, upping his old total of 143:27 to 156:15 – a mark that stretches back to MacEwan’s last game before the break against NAIT.
On Friday, Daigle made 19 saves for his first shutout of the season, doing some of his best work in the first period as the Griffins shook off the rust in their first game back after the semester break.
On Saturday, he made 32 saves to seal a weekend sweep for the Griffins.
For the season, Daigle leads the ACAC with a 1.53 goals against average and .946 save percentage.
