Bio

Alan was the first member of the PGA of Alberta to earn Master Professional status with the PGA of Canada and was honored to be presented with the PGA of Alberta Lifetime Achievement Award in Teaching, the MacEwan University Distinguished Teaching Award, is inducted into the Griffins Athletics Wall of Distinction in the Coach Category, and awarded two Alberta Colleges Athletic Conference,  All Conference Coaching Awards. 

Alan has had a varied career in golf, six years as an Assistant Professional, 11 years as Head Golf Professional, 15 years as the Program Co-ordinator of the three Golf Management Programs at MacEwan University and six years as an Assistant Professor, instructing business courses in the MacEwan University School of Business.  He was a member of the PGA of Canada National Education Committee and served as the President of the PGA of Alberta.

In addition, for 19 years, he instructed the golf physical activity courses in the Faculty of Kinesiology, Sport and Recreation at the University of Alberta. For over 20 years Alan was one of the National Facilitators for the PGA of Canada Teaching and Coaching Programs.  He was a coach for the MacEwan University Woman’s and Men’s Varsity Golf Teams for 11 years and an Assistant Coach and Team Lead for Team Canada Men and Women at the 2012 World University Golf Championships in Liberec, Czechia. For over 20 years, Alan was a Teaching Professional at Sturgeon Valley Golf & C.C.
