2026-27 schedule: Griffins' 52nd season begins Oct. 30 at home vs. Mount Royal

EDMONTON – Mark it on your calendars: the 52nd season in the history of Griffins women's basketball begins on Oct. 30 at home versus the visiting Mount Royal University Cougars.
Canada West released the 2026-27 slate on Friday.
The Griffins will also host Prairie Division rivals Brandon Nov. 13-14, Lethbridge Dec. 4-5 (with Friday's 'School Day' game going at 11:30 a.m.), Saskatchewan Jan. 15-16 and Manitoba Feb. 12-13 on the final weekend of the regular season.
"We are excited to begin the 2026-27 season and ready for the challenge of competing in the always tough Canada West conference," said Griffins head coach Katherine Adams. "Our schedule provides plenty of opportunities to test ourselves against some of the top programs in the country, and we look forward to continuing to build the provincial and prairie rivalries that make Canada West basketball so special."

Tickets for the season will go on sale Aug. 5 at 10 a.m. HERE
Fans can catch all of the matches on Canada West TV Powered by BioSteel. Early bird pricing for the CWTV All-Access and Sport passes go on sale in early August.
Annual matches against cross-town rival Alberta are at the Saville Centre this season on Jan. 29-30.
A total of 12 teams qualify for the post-season with seven of the 10 Prairie Division teams getting into the dance.
The Play-In/Quarterfinals round is set for Feb. 19-21, the Canada West semifinals go Feb. 26-28 and the gold and bronze games are set for the March 5-7 weekend.
U SPORTS nationals are set for March 11-14 in Halifax, N.S., co-hosted by Dalhousie and Acadia universities.
