EDMONTON – Consistency is building for the MacEwan Griffins men's hockey team.
They're on a two-game winning streak and have victories in three of their last four games as they head into a weekend series against one of the toughest opponents they've seen yet: the red-hot Calgary Dinos.
Leaders of the Canada West East Division at 6-2-0, the Dinos – who've also won three of their last four – are ranked sixth in the country.
Not that that's scared off the Griffins (4-3-1) so far as they've beaten Mount Royal and taken Alberta to OT earlier this season when both were ranked in the top-10.
Calgary will visit MacEwan on Friday (7 p.m., Downtown Community Arena) with the home sites reversed a night later as the Griffins travel to Cowtown Saturday (7 p.m., both Canada West TV).

"It's a huge challenge – a really good hockey team that we're playing here," said Griffins head coach Zack Dailey. "They're a team that plays the right way.
"My message to the guys is if we want to be successful, we've got to be willing to do all the little things. We need to play smart hockey, we need to take care of the puck and make high percentage plays.
"So, it's going to be a really big test for our group on how and if we can stay the course and stick to the game plan. Again, it's going to be an effort-based weekend. The team that competes the hardest and wins more of the battles is going to be the team that's coming out on top."
Coming off 5-1 and 5-2 wins over Trinity Western last weekend, the Griffins are only a point out of first place in the West Division at 4-3-1. The truth is they're right there with the best teams in this conference and have every right to expect results against Calgary this weekend if they play the way they're capable of.
"I think there has been a few cases this season where we've seen when we play at our best, we're a hard hockey team to beat," said Dailey. "I think (last weekend) was another example of playing the right way, putting pressure on defence and managing the puck well we create a lot of chances for ourselves.
"Hopefully, it's a lot of confidence for the group and reassurance there's a certain way we need to play to be successful. Hopefully we can keep riding that wave into this weekend."
